Kickin' It Country with Big Bad John

 Every Thursday from 7PM - 10PM Eastern Time - HD2

It all started on one beautiful evening when a couple in love decided that they were going to have one amazing son. Oh who are we kidding, Big Bad John was dropped on his head by a stork.

Big Bad John is a born and bred Jersey boy residing in Bergen County.  Big Bad John actually started his radio career right here at WFDU in 2002 as an intern for the one and only Evan Toth!  From that show to a country music show with Rob Burrows, and learning from the one and only Paul Bain, Big Bad John would start to be a little cowboy.  Since then, Big Bad John has bounced all over and spent 2 years in NYC with both WPLJ and Z100.  He would also hang out down at the Jersey Shore for awhile working for a rock, adult hits, and get this a country music station.... Big Bad John got away again from country music, and would move on to another Top 40 station in NJ.  All the while, Big Bad John kept looking for something, and little did he know what would happen next.

It was a call from Program Director Barry Sheffield and Station Manager Carl Kraus with an invitation to a 40 year WFDU anniversary party that turned it all around.  Big Bad John had just finished filling in on PA announcing a soccer game at FDU when he happened to meet Kenny.  Little did he know, it was Country Kenny the Cowboy Kid.  The 2 got to talking and found that they were both pretty similar.  Big Bad John went onto the party, hanging out with all the staff, when the invitation came from Kenny.  "Hey man, why don't you come hang out for the day on the show?" Who'd a think that Big Bad John hanging in the studio that one day, would lead to a 2 1/2 year stint... Producer, Side Kick, and Partner on Let There Be Country!

Now, Big Bad John has moved on to his own show- "Kickin It Country", a weekly 3 hour, pedal to the medal, high energy explosion of all things country music.  Whether it's a huge hit on the radio now or a newbie making their way in the world of Country music, BBJ will make them known thru their music, interviews, and the interactive 9 @ 9.

When John's not on the air, you can find him emceeing/hosting events all over the tri state area, and voicing for the Newark Bears baseball team.  Never stop believing in God or your dreams... Everything happens in HIS time, and HIS time has brought Big Bad John back home to where it all began- 89.1 WFDU, Thursdays from 7-10pm
